The purpose of a tribute band is to let a new generation experience the sights and sounds of the past, a moment in time that the original artist either can't or will not give a present day audience. If you were not able to experience a “The Cure” concert in the 1980's, you can now re-live one of the most exciting and influential acts of the decade by attending a performance by The Cured – The 1980's “The Cure” Experience.
The Cured is a Southern California based realistic rendition of the 80's super band The Cure. The band performs a true to era 1989 Cure concert complete with costumes, lights, effects and of course the songs. The show was a hit from its first performance in late 2005. Word spread rapidly that The Cured was exceptional amongst the many tribute bands performing today. Almost immediately The Cured was playing in the largest and hippest club venues in San Diego , Orange County , Los Angeles and Hollywood. Soon clubs from outside of California had heard about The Cured and were flying the band in to play sell-out shows with attendances well over 1000 people at each show. The band recently sold out House of Blues largest venue (4th & B in San Diego) with an attendance of 1637.
The Cured has now made the transition from being a Southern California band to becoming a national act. The band seems to have momentum reminiscent of Beatlemania when they first came out. The Cured has completed several tours across the USA and abroad. Venues of note include headlining at several of the world famous House of Blues, The Universal (Gibson) Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, Norva in Norfolk Virgina, The National in Richmond, The Highline Ballroom in New York City and The Abbey in Chicago.
The Cured readily attributes their success to the band they emulate….The Cure and the millions of rabidly loyal Cure fans out there. Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late '70s, the Cure was one of the most enduring and popular. The Cure became iconic in the MTV days of the 80's and is still one of the most beloved bands of the era. The Cure is not only enjoyed by those who lived through the 1980s, but has become a cult phenomenon amongst the college youth of today as well.
This is to say that any venue who books The Cured can count on exceptional attendance and customer satisfaction. The Cured draws large crowds wherever they play and it is common for the audience to get swept away in the moment. The crowds love to hear all the hit songs that they all know and love and usually will be dancing and singing throughout the entire show.
If you can't see The Cure or want to relive the magic of the 80's then The Cured can provide the next best thing. Book The Cured for your next corporate event, festival, wedding or 80's party. |
